This iPhone 18 Pro Max unboxing skips the talking entirely and goes full ASMR — just the sound of the box seal breaking, the plastic peeling away, and that first look at Apple’s Black finish. The Phonzio team wanted this reveal to match the calm, premium feel of the phone itself.
What’s Inside the Box
Apple keeps the package minimal, as usual: the handset, a short paper insert with basic setup instructions, and Apple stickers. There’s no charging brick or cable included, so you’ll need your own USB-C accessories if you don’t already have them.
Display and Design
A 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display leads the front, running ProMotion up to 120Hz with peak brightness reaching 3,000 nits outdoors. Ceramic Shield 2 protects the front, while the back uses an aluminum frame paired with a glass or aluminum rear panel, depending on configuration. Altogether, the phone weighs 249g and measures 8.75mm thick.
Performance and Cooling
Apple’s new A20 Pro chip drives the phone, built on a 2nm process with a hexa-core CPU and a 7-core GPU. Compared to last year’s model, Apple says the GPU runs up to 40% faster. Additionally, a redesigned vapor chamber with 3x the surface area helps the phone sustain performance for longer under heavy load, such as gaming or video editing.
Camera System
On the back, a 48MP triple-camera setup handles most of the heavy lifting. Notably, the main sensor now supports a variable aperture, giving more creative control over depth and light than previous models. Features like Photonic Engine, Smart HDR 5, and ProRes RAW round out the photography toolkit, while the 18MP front camera covers selfies and Face ID.
Connectivity
The phone includes Apple’s new C2 cellular modem and N1 wireless chip, bringing 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6 support. For wired connections, USB-C 3.2 also supports DisplayPort output, so you can connect directly to an external display.
